King of the Street!

What's up guys!! Revminister here!! And welcome to the world of mean machines!

Recently Triumph India launched their 2017 version of their middle weight naked, Street Triple S. Now Triumph India has decided to take it up by a notch by launching their top spec varient of the bike the Street Triple RS.

Triumph says that this bike has the power to conquer the Indian market for middle weight bikes. After having a look at the specs of the Striple S. People especially me had a lot of hopes with the RS.

Well, then what are you waiting for? Put on your seat bealts and brace yourself as I show you the first impressions of the Street Triple RS.

Triumph says that this is the sportiest Striple of all. So what separates the Street Triple from the RS variant? Well, it's the equipment on offer which does the magic!

It is powered by an inline 3 mill producing a good 123 bhp of power and 72 Nm of torque.

For starters we have fully adjustable 41mm Showa BPF forks in the front and a Ohlins piggyback monoshock at the rear.

For maincourse it gets switchable ABS and TC along with 5 riding mode which are reinforced by a slipper clutch, ride-by-wire throttle and a quickshifter. You also get a fully customisable TFT screen to give you all the information you require.

I was a great fan of the Street Triple's handling....the RS makes it even better with a shraper rake i.e 23.9° and super sticky Pirelli Supercorsa tyres.

At a price of Rs. 10,55,000 (ex-showroom) this bike is an ideal match for some one who is a track junkie but at the same time wants a daily ride to his office!

Ducati's baby sports tourer is here!

What's up guys!! Revminister here!! And welcome to the world of mean machines

Ducati India is all set to capture the Indian superbike market by introducing some extremely fun bikes at very affordable prices! And as a result, Ducati India recently launched its baby sports tourer in India. Yes! I am talking about the Ducati Supersport!

The Supersport will be available in two variants i.e the standard variant and the S trim variant.

Comming to the looks of these bikes, they look absolutely stunning. The single sided swingarm will make you drool over it. The sharp headlights will make sure that you won't take it for granted! Well, I think I'll let the bike do talking!!!

As of now the bike is only available in Ducati red colour, but Ducati say's that they will introduce the Star White Silk in November. To be honest, I personally like the white colour!

Enough of the looks, now lets see what is inside that sharp and sexy body! The Ducati SuperSport gets a new steel trellis frame but the engine is sourced from the Multistrada 950, the 937 cc L-twin makes over 110 bhp of power and 93 Nm of peak torque. In the electronics suite, the SuperSport gets ride-by-wire with three riding modes - Urban, Sport and Touring.

Urban mode restricts power to 75 bhp for city use, while Sport and Touring provide the full range with different throttle response.

The standard variant gets the Marzoochi forks and Sacs monoshock while the S variant gets race-spec Ohlins suspension and a bi-directional Ducati Quickshifter as standard.

Now comming to the best part about these bikes, the price! Both the bikes are priced quite competitively with a mouth watering price tag of just 12.08 lacs for the standard variant and 13.39 lacs for the S variant!

Verdict :-
The Ducati SuperSport will sit just below the 959 Panigale, and is designed as an everyday street bike, with capability to take on the track as well. So, ergonomics are slightly different, with a more comfortable riding position than the Panigale. While the Panigale is more track focussed with aggressive riding position and performance, the Ducati SuperSport is positioned more as a do-it-all sort of bike, to use everyday within the city, track days and even the occasional long distance tour.

The unsung story of the Silver Lady!

What's up guys!! Revminister here!! And welcome to the world of mean machine!!!!

Well this time, I have brought you a very intresting story. The story of a hood ornament which considered as the epitome of luxury in the modern time. A sculpture which has adorned the hood of each and every Rollsroyce cars since 1909. A sculpture which arouses the feeling of speed, refinement, euphoria, a feeling called ECSTASY!

Yes! This is the story of the SPIRIT OF ECSTASY!

It all started in 1905 when pioneering automobile journalist John Douglas-Scott Montagu wanted a way to delineate his Rolls-Royce from others. So inorder to fulfill his desire Lord Montagu hired a Bohemian artist Charles Robinson Sykes.

And hence the WHISPER was created! Sykes's first edition of the SPIRIT OF ECSTASY. The sculpture resembled a lady standing on one leg with her gown flowing behind her and a finger on her lips as if she was keeping a secret.

It is said that Charles Sykes's muse for this structure was none other than Eleanor Velasco Thornton, secretary and mistress of Lord Montagu.

What is a MUSE?
Well it is the feminine force of inspiration for an artist or an inventor.

Impressed with the beauty of the Whisper, Rolls-Royce Managing Director of the time, Claude Johnson asked Skyes to create another sculpter for them. A sculpture which would covey the spirit of Rolls-Royce, namely, speed with silence, absence of vibrations and a mysterious harnessing of energy. A sculpture which would be recognized as the mascot of Rolls-Royce motoring company. A sculpture which would adorne the hoods of each and every future Rolls-Royce car.

Charles Sykes described his creation as “A graceful little goddess, the Spirit of Ecstasy, who has selected road travel as her supreme delight and alighted on the prow of a Rolls-Royce motor car to revel in the freshness of the air and the musical sound of her fluttering draperies.”

And hence the SPIRIT OF ECSTASY was found! Today's Spirit of ecstasy can be made with Stainless steel, 24K gold, frosted crystal and it can also be diamond studded!

So this was the unsung story of the Silver lady!

The street will never be same again!

What's up guys!! Revminister here!! And welcome to the world of mean machines!!

So 2016's most controversial bike is back again.....and this time it is bigger, better and smarter!

That's right!! Triumph has recently launched its 2017 Street triple S in India! And this time they have claimed and double checked that the bike delivers what it promises!

The 2017 model gets a 765cc inline triple which produces 111.5 bhp and 73 nm of torque! The suspension duties are handled by adjustable showa forks at front and a monoshock at the rear!

When you plan to go fast, you should also plan to stop fast! That's exactly what triumph has done! They have carried down their monstrous 320 mm disc brakes from 675 to the 765!

Comming to the looks!! For some reason it looks like a counterpart of the mighty BMW S1000R. But in my opinion, the looks are just menacing. Especially the stone grey shade on the RS version of the bike!

When Triumph said that they have made the bike bigger and better, they actually meant it! They have added tons of new features on their bike to make sure they stay way ahead of their competitors!!

These new feature include a ride-by-wire throttle, ABS, led DRL, switchable traction control, riding modes and much more!

With the newly added riding modes, Triumph has made the bike an easy to handle machine for new as well as experienced riders!

While making it  an easy to ride machine, Triumph has made sure that it is easy on your pocket too!! That's right, the 2017 Street triple 765 Carrie's a very sweet pricetag of 8.5 lacs (ex-showroom).

Speaking of the competition, the Striple 765 acts as a major competitor to rhe new launched Ducati monster 797 and the Kawasaki Z900.

Triumph India is also planning to launch the R and the RS version of the Street Triple very soon in India!

In my opinion, if you are a typical Desi customer who wants a complete package, then this bike is made just for you!!

So that was all for today!!

Welcome the baby multistrada!

What's up guys!! Revminister here!!
And welcome to the world of mean machines!!

Ducati India just launched its new entry level sports tourer, the Ducati Multistrada 950 in India! Lets see how this baby multistrada performs against its elder siblings!

The Multistrada series started as a 1000cc adventure bike for road use in 2003. It had a stance and ergos like a dirt bike but equipped with 17 inch tarmac spec rubber. It was new and novel, comfortable for day long rides, handled well and sold in good numbers. Healthy commerce usually drives the upward evolution and the Multistrada 1000 evolved into the 1200.

Ducati wanted to spread that customer base and so they watched, analysed and brought in the Multistrada 950! A bike which preserved the versatility and road presence of its elder sibling while at the same time being easier on the rider's pocket!

Now comming to the bike, it sits on the same chassis as that of the 1200S. It is powered by a 937cc, liquid cooled Testastretta 11° engine, Which produces 113HP @ 9000 rpm and 96 NM of troque @ 7750 rpm. You also get a ride-by-wire throttle and a slipper clutch as standard!
The bike sits on fully adjustable KYB forks at front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear, having 170mm of travel at both ends.

Since its a tourer, it gets a 20L fuel tank and 4 riding modes. Which are Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro.

You also get power mode i.e low, medium and high along with Ducati's safety pack (ABS + DTC)

The braking duties are handled by the radially mounted Brembo calipers with a 320mm disc at the front and a single 265mm disc at rear.

Ducati is also providing a host of additional accessories like aluminum panniers, top box, tank bags, performance parts and exhaust, off-road equipment like bash plates, etc.

Now comming to the main part, its price!
With a post GST price tag of around 12.6 lacs (ex-showroom), this baby beast is all set to destroy the sales of other middle weight sports tourers, especially the Triumph tiger XRx!

So that was all for today!!

Harley's new urban bulldog!!

What's up guys!! Revminister here!!
And welcome to the world of mean machines!!

America's legendary superbike brand Harleydavidson just launched the Street rod, in India. They call it the Urban bulldog!! Because Harley claims that this is currently the sportiest bike in their India line-up.

Lets see how hard this bulldog can bite!!!

Some people would say that this bike looks similar to the street 750. Yes, it is a street 750, but this time it is even more agile, a bit more powerful and a hell lot sporty!!!

This picture clearly shows how sportier the street rod is in front of the street 750

It has an all new sporty design with the speed screen at front. The foot pegs are more rear set and also adjustable for taller riders. The handle bar is changed from cruiser bars to frag bars with bar end mirrors to give an aggressive riding position.

The all new semi-digital instrument cluster gives it a modern look!

The rake is sharper then the street 750, You get 17" cast aluminum rims. The high output Revolution X™ engine is now retuned to give out 11.6% more power and 5.1% more torque.

You get a dual disc brake setup at front which give it more stopping power and it also gets ABS as standard! Which in my opinion is a huge plus point!

Looks like Harleydavidson has listened to their customer's demand and have finally added ABS as standard on this bike!

Is it
actually that sporty?
Hell yeah! the bike is way more agile then the street 750. The new brake and suspension setup give you immense confidence to push it harder. The new engine revs all the way upto 9000 rpm!

The new rims look great on the bike and also match the sporty theme of the bike!

Now enough of the good stuff! Lets get to the Bad stuff!!

Even though its liquid cooled, it heats up a fair bit. So if you are planning to ride it in city's stop and go traffic, make sure you go well prepared. Also the engine feels buzzie above 6000 rpm. The on-off throttle transitions aren't that smooth.

The conclusion!!!
At 6.31 lakhs (ex-showroom) Mumbai, its a steal. If you are a person who is a huge Harley Davidson fan but at the same time like to go fast then this bike is just made for you!!

So that was all for today!!
